Killed along with Capt. Joe J. Jordan, City Marshall of Orange; Felix was born in Gonzales, Texas in 1864. His parents came to Orange in 1866 but Felix moved to Houston several years afterwards, where he resided until last spring of 1902. He was unmarried. See Dallas Morning News article of 11.7.1902.

The father of Felix Chenault, killed in the difficulty, was Alanson Chenault, a half brother of Messrs. L. and Charles Chenault, of this city. He lived in Gonzales for a number of years, but moved to Orange shortly after the war. Citizens of this town who know the family speak of them most highly, and especially the father. Felix Chenault leaves a mother and two brothers.
