He was a United States Army veteran of World War II. He was the owner and manager of Ray's Jewelry Store. Along with his father and brother, he was a co-owner of the former Dezen's Firestone Store in Cumberland, Keyser, Oakland, and Frostburg. He was a member of the former Beth Jacob, and was a member of B'er Chayim, and B'Nai B'rith.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Irma; two sons; one daughter; and one brother.
