Funeral services will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Peninsula funeral home for Mrs. Minnie May Brous, 83, daughter of of one of Oregon's earliest woman doctors.
Mrs. Brous died Thursday following an illness of three months duration. Interment will be in the family plot at River View cemetery with Rev. James Sykes, pastor of University Park Congregational church, officiating.
Mrs. Brous was the daughter of Dr. Elizabeth "Aunty" Perry who first came to Oregon in 1845. She was born at St. Helens, Or., on March 16, 1865. She was the sole living charter member of University Park Congregational church.
Daughter, son survive
Mrs. Brous resided at 1429 S. W. 14th avenue. Survivors include a daughter, Lealah Van Vlerah, Portland, and a son, Elmo P. Brous of Vernonia, Or.
Mrs. Brous's mother was a member of a party which landed more than a century ago at Linnton, at the end of a long journey by barge down the Columbia River.
In November, 1945, a stone and bronze memorial was unveiled by two of the doctor's grandchildren at McBride school, St. Helens, first of a series of permanent monuments to be set up along the route of the Old Oregon Trail.
