OBITUARIES
JOHANNES ANDERSEN
Johannes Marimus Andersen was born July 6, 1896, to Soren and Marie Andersen in Samso, Denmark. He was baptized and confrimed in the Lutheran faith. As a young man he came to the United States in 1915. He was a World War I Army Veteran. Johannes came to Lake Benton and has been a resident of this community since that time.
During the 57 years he lived here, Johannes spent 35 years working on the Henry Black farm. After retiring he bought a home in Lake Benton, where he lived until his passing at the Sioux Falls Veterans Hospital Jan 6, 1972, at the age of 75 years and 6 months.
Johannes is survived by one brother, Martin Andersen, in Lake Benton, two brothers, Ole Andersen and Rude Andersen and two sisters, Mrs. Valdemar Olsen and Mrs. Petra Sagland in Denmark and nieces and nephews.
Johannes was preceded in death by 2 sisters and 2 brothers.
Funeral services were held Monday Jauary 10, 1972, at 2:00 p.m. at the Utoft-Johansen Funeral Chapel, Lake Benton, with Rev. Arley Fadness officiating. Mrs. Claire Pritchett was the soloist and Clara Petersen the organist.
Interment was in Diamond Lake Cemetery.
