Mrs Elizabeth Hayden Alvey, 80, of 524 Allen St, died at 1120am Friday at Our Lady of Mercy Hospital after an illness of two weeks. She was the widow of A C Alvey. Mrs Alvey was born in Jefferson County, Oct 8, 1885 and had lived in Owensboro for the last 36 years. She was a member of St Stephen Catholic Cathedral and the Altar Society. Surviving are a sister, Mrs Carl Jackson of Louisville; two stepsons, Robert and Bernard Alvey, and a stepdaughter Mrs Albert Clark, all of Owensboro. Services will be held at 9am Monday at the St Stephens Cathedral conducted by the Rev Gerald Glahn, assistant pastor of St Stephens. Burial will be in Mater Dolorosa. Prayers will be said at 7pm Sunday at the Haley-McGinnis Funeral Home, 519 Locus St, where friends may call after 4pm today.
