Hattie was a homemaker and a wonderful cook. There were many holiday meals that bring back fond memories of her culinary talents. She made a wonderful peanut butter cake that I have never found a match to anywhere. Hattie and her husband Carl never had any children, but were both lovers of children and always encouraged education. While others may give gifts of toys on birthdays and holidays, I received books from them about the animal kingdom and the world of nature. Sadly, I don't think we always appreciate the good in our family members as much as we should, till they are gone and only memories.
