Cela Cantrell was born in Wise County, Virginia, on the 13th day of May, 1842; died near Hydro, Oklahoma, November 2, 1910; age 68 years, 5 months and 20 days. Her maiden name was Dotson. She was married to James Cantrell on the 7th day of March, 1861. Sister Cantrell is survived by her husband and seven children, five children having preceded her to the Great Beyond. The surviving children are W. Z. Cantrell of Williamson, West Virginia; R.L. Cantrell of Missouri; Mrs. Mead and Mrs. Mullins of Virginia; Mrs. A.J. Epperly of Hydro, Oklahoma, and Mrs. Creed Lane of Hobart, Oklahoma. The last three were only permitted to be present at the funeral. Sister Cantrell obeyed the gospel about thirty years ago, living a faithful consistent Christian until death, she died in the triumph of a living faith. Sister Cantrell had been in poor health for some time. She has now ceased from suffering and labors and truly entered into that rest that remains for the people of God. "Blessed are the dead that die in the Lord; yea, sayeth the spirit, that they may rest from their labors and their works do follow them. May the God of Peace comfort and sustain her aged companion and the children in their great loss. May they even look for comfort unto him who doeth all things well and may we all realize that it will only be a short time until we are called to follow on; and may we so live that when the summons shall come we may be ready to go. And while we miss our loved ones who have gone from us, "we sorrow not as those who have no hope."
