He was born May 30, 1872 in Henry County, Tennessee, a son of the late William Greaf and Mary Fleming Carter Comer.
He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Mattie W. Campbell Comer; three daughters, Mrs L. B. Rushing, Mrs. Oliver Gosnell of Johnson City and Mrs. Edgar Shell of Elizabethton; four sons, R. G., Noel, Newman and Wiley Comer, all of Johnson City; eight grand children one brother, Ben Comer of Mansfield TN; one sister, Mrs. C. H. Hastings of Memphis,.
Funeral services will be at the Second Baptist Church, corner Maple and Afton Streets Rev. R. R. Carrier in charge at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday.
Burial will be in Monte Vista Burial Park.
