Polly, as she was called, was the daughter of Jacob Heaney and his wife, Catherine Weisbecher Heaney. (Surname was shown as Hönig & Hoenig in the Most Blessed Sacrament Church records. The 22 Jul 1765 birth is also shown in those records.)

She married Michael Melcher. Her married surname was also spelled Melchior.

Children: John in 1791, Catharine in 1793, Susan in 1795, Jacob in 1797, Sarah in 1798, Mary Ann in 1801, Michael in 1803, Magdalena in 1805, Anna in 1807, Joseph in 1810, Susanna in 1812 and Margareta in 1815. The first six are shown in the Most Blessed Sacrament Church baptism records.
