DARLE CHARITY SPRIGG

Darle Charity Sprigg, 98, died Monday, January 26, 1998 at North
Colorado Medical Center in Greeley, Colorado.
Darle was born the youngest of eight children on August 28, 1899,
in Red Oak, Iowa, to Albert Nathan and Luella (McGreer) Thatcher. When
she was three months old, the family moved to Golden, Colorado. In 1915,
she moved with her parents to Brush, Colorado.
On July 10, 1918, she married S. Neal Sprigg in Denver, Colorado. In 1923, they returned to the Brush area where she resided until she moved to
Bonell Good Samaritan Center of Greeley in 1991.
Darle was a member of the Rankin Presbyterian Church in Brush,
Colorado. She was a former member of the Rebekah Lodge, Morgan County
Republican Women, World War I Auxiliary, Harmony Social Club, Brush and
Midway Extension Clubs, WCTU, and East Morgan County Hospital Auxiliary.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Neal, in 1978, a daughter,
Eleanor M. in 1925; three brothers and four sisters.
She is survived by two daughters: Betty J. Richardson, of Waldron
and Lucille J. Schweers, of Greeley, Colorado; a son-in-law, Rex R.
Schweers, Jr., of Greeley, Colorado; four grandsons: Edward D. Bretthauer,
of Stafford Virginia, Gary L. Bretthauer, of Ontario, California, Bruce A.
Schweers, of Greeley Colorado, and Rex R. Schweers III, of Aurora,
Colorado; three granddaughters: Janice K. Rhoton of Littleton, Colorado,
Sharon R. Eberhard, of Greeley. Colorado, and Gayle L. Griggs of Arvada,
Colorado; 17 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Funeral service was held on Thursday, January 29 at 11:00 a.m. at
the Rankin Presbyterian Church officiated by Rev. Michael Hartwell.
Interment was in the J. L. Brush Cemetery in Brush, Colorado.
Contributions may be made to the Rankin Presbyterian Church of
Brush, or the Bonell Good Samaritan Center of Greeley, in care of the Heer
Mortuary, 222 Cameron St., Brush, Colorado, 80723.
