Injuries Resulted in Death
Mr. Lem A. Butler, who was the unfortunate victim of an accident in San Antonio recently, from which he sustained a fracture of the skull, is dead. The sad news was received yesterday afternoon from San Antonio a few moments after the spirit had left the body.
From the first Mr. Butler's injuries were regarded as critical and but faint hopes were entertained for his recovery. For the past week his life had been hanging by a thread, as it were, and his death was not a surprise, although it has caused sorrow among his many friends in this county.
The remains were brought to Smiley today, where the interment occurred this afternoon.
Deceased was a native of Gonzales county, having been raised in the Smiley section, and for a few years was a resident of this city. He was a member of the Baptist church, and was a consecrated Christian, and for many years had been prominent in church work. He leaves a wife and several children, together with an aged mother, two sisters and other relatives to mourn his death.
