Myrtle Lee Alford, 78, of Macclenny, died August 10 in the Frank Wells Nursing Home following a brief illness. The lifelong resident of Macclenny and daughter of James and Sarah Williams Harvey was a homemaker and member of the Macedonia Independent Methodist Church of Baker County. Survivors include sons Roland and Windle Ray Starling, both of Macclenny; daughters, Vallie Harris, Eunice Mann and Rosa Belleville, all of Macclenny, Bulah Burnham of Glenn St. Mary, Erma Jean Carter and Verla Swafford, both of Jacksonville, Debbie McAlister of Raiford and Patty Combs of Fayetteville, TN.; stepson Ray Alford of Sanderson; stepdaughters Ann Starling of Glen St. Mary, and Carolyn Price of Augusta, GA.; 40 grandchildren, 62 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. Funeral services were held August 13 int he Christian Fellowship Temple with Rev. Leslie Thomas officiating, assisted by Rev. David Thomas. Pallbearers were Tony Carter, Dale Young, Dennis Fish, Kevin Carter and Earl Harris. Interment was in Oak Grove Cemetery, Baker County, with Guerry Funeral Home of Macclenny in charge of arrangements.
