While out visiting yesterday afternoon, Hugh McCulloch, resident of this city for the past twenty years was stricken with a seizure and died a few minutes afterwards. He was 67 years of age.
The stricken man had been visiting with an old friend, Peter McArthur at the latter's home on Frank Street. He was conveyed to the residence of his daughter, Mr. R. B. Hay, 608 Chamberlain Street, where death occurred.
Mr. McCulloch was born in Maybole, Ayrshire Scotland, and after serving many years in a large shoe factory in his native town, he came to this country and established himself in a shoe repairing business here at 310 Sherbrooke Street. He retired from business a little over a year ago.
He is survived by his wife, formerly Jean McKelvie, and by five sons and seven daughters.
The sons are George of Perry Street, Hugh of Moir Street, David of William Street, James of Olive Avenue and Oswald of Bolivar street. The daughters are Mrs. O. H. Wilson of Bolivar Street, Mrs. Stroyan Leith of Gilmour Street, Mrs. Eric Vincent of Lake Street, Mrs. R.B. Hay of Chamberlain Street, Mrs. Gordon Hicks and Mrs. E.C.L. Black of Detroit and Mrs. Leo O'Brien of Edwin Avenue, Toronto.
The funeral is to be held from 608 Chamberlain Street Saturday at 2:30 p.m. with the Rev. Dr. A.T. Barr, pastor of St. Paul's Presbyterian Church, officiating. Interment at Little Lake Cemetery.
