Edward "Ray" McCowan, 94, of Anderson, died Aug. 2, 2008, at Saint John's Medical Center.

He was born Aug. 26, 1913, in Beaver, Pa.

He was a veteran who served his country in the U.S. Army.

Ray retired from Conrail after 35 years of employment.

He was a member of the Rotary Club in Ohio and the Anderson Elks Club.

Survivors include his wife, Kathryn (Weaver) McCowan of Anderson; daughters, Sharon (David) Davis of Anderson, Diane (David) McManus of Indianapolis and Carole Livingstone of Maui, Hawaii; and five grandchildren, Shelley (Alan) Green, Jill (Steve) Whitcomb, Dana Kemmerling, Trent Davis and Tara (B.J.) Smith.

Ray was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters; and two brothers.

Services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at Robert D. Loose Funeral Homes and Crematory, South Chapel, 200 W. 53rd St., Anderson, officiated by the Rev. Gerald Burnett. Burial will take place at Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery.

Visitation hours will be from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at the South Chapel.
