Services for Bettye J. Austin, 79, of Lubbock will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, August 6th at Westwood Church. Entombment will follow in Resthaven Mausoleum under the direction of Resthaven.
Bettye passed away on Saturday, August 2nd.
She was born on February 7, 1929 in Holiday, Tx, to Arthur J. and Alice Hardt. She married Donal C. Austin on January 18, 1947. She designed the first Mustang logo for Coronado High School.
Bettye enjoyed sewing and time with her children and grandchildren. She was a mentor and member of the Women's Ministry at Westwood Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, "Sonny" Hardt.
Survivors include her husband of 61 years, Donal; a son, Rick and wife Donna Austin of Lubbock; daughter, Kim and husband Steve Shaw of Lubbock; brother, Earl Andrews of Lubbock; grandchildren, Josh and Staci Shaw; Casey and Meilssa Oliver, all of Lubbock; Nicole Austin; Josh and Stephanie Haney, all of Dallas; and a great-granddaughter, Addison Shaw of Lubbock.
Memorials are suggested to Westwood Church.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 6 to 7:30 p.m.
