He was retired from Alcoa, served in the U.S. Army, and was a World War II veteran.
Mr. Aguirre was preceded in death by his parents; and brother Jose Aguirre.
He is survived by his former wife of 53 years, Juanita Flores of Port Lavaca; his present wife, Susan Wall Aguirre of Port Lavaca; sons Jim Aguirre and wife Rose Elaine of Chapman, Kan., Richard Aguirre Jr. of Port Lavaca, and Sam Aguirre of Port Lavaca; his daughter, Irma Kassner and husband John of Port Lavaca; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and brothers Gregorio Aguirre of Corpus Christi, Fernando Aguirre of Corpus Christi, and Enrique Aguirre of Port Lavaca.
