Early Pioneer of CA

After their marriage they located the following April to Petaluma. In the fall of 1865 they returned to Napa City where William rented a ranch, engaging in agricultural work. Shortly afterward they removed to Yolo county and for abt 2yrs he was engaged in ranching, in 1867 they moved to Lake county first locating at Guenoc. They belonged to the Methodist Church built in 1897 with stone's from Lake County, located on Armstrong Street in Middletown.

His father William Craighton's last request of his son William Jasper, was to bring his body back to Woodland to be buried beside his wife Elizabeth. William Jasper loaded his body aboard his buckboard and used his fathers favorite team of horses "Mary and Dolly", taking a few days as you can guess.
