She was the oldest of 14 children of Thomas Peace (1846-1914) and Rebecca Bennett Peace (1849-1938). On Mar. 16, 1881, she first married Leander "Lee" Moore (1860-1888) who was struck and killed by lightening at the age of 28 leaving her with four young daughters under the age of eight years old.
She then married Benjamin Walden on Feb. 6, 1889 in Whitley Co., KY and they had nine children.
When he died on Nov. 23, 1917, she then married Thomas J. Cotton; however, she is buried next to Benjamin in this cemetery under the married name of Walden.
