Mrs. Eliza Raike, 74, died at 4 a.m. today at her home in Quincy following an illness of two years.

Mrs. Raike was the widow of Samuel Ellis Raike, who died July 7, 1953.

She was born April 2, 1888, a daughter of James and America (Messer) Lowder. She was a lifelong resident of the Quincy community.

Surviving are four sons, Clarence Raike of New Boston, Ed Raike of South Dakota, Clyde Raike of Rushville, Ind., and Eugene Raike of New Jersey; five daughters, Mrs. Nellie Bolander of Sciotoville, Mrs. Clara Hill of New Boston, Mrs. Anna Overturf of Chillicothe, Ill., Mrs. Lucy Banor of Baltimore, Md., and Mrs. Imogene Riffe of Garrison; two sisters, Mrs. Joseph Ishmel of Flatwoods and Mrs. Orpha Kessinger of Michigan City, Ind.; a brother, Wallace Lowder of Dry Run; 25 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Raike was preceded in death by her husband, parents, three sons (Ellis James, George & John), a daughter (Mary), three brothers and a sister.

Funeral services are to be conducted at Quincy Methodist Church at 2 p.m. Monday. Rev. Roy Heimbach is to officiate. Internment is to be in Quincy Cemetery under direction of Morton Funeral Home at South Shore.

Friends may call at the funeral home.
