Sarah M Scott b. 1845 Ohio, d. 13 April 1918 Indiana. Daughter of William Scott and Calista Mitchell. Her parents married 8 Jul 1844 Butler Co, Ohio.

Her siblings:
Matilda Scott b.1852 m. John Harman 27 Dec 1874 Boone County, Indiana
Eliza A. Scott b. 1854
John Scott b. 1856
Lucinda Scott b. 1858
Albert Scott b.1861 m. Myrtle Bell 3 Dec 1890 Lancaster Co, Nebraska
William Scott b. 1872

(Parents and siblings appear 1870 and 1880 Boone Co, Indiana. Mother, Calista, appears with Matilda and spouse in 1900 Lancaster Co, Nebraska.)

She first married Samuel J Barrick on 17 Feb 1867 Boone County, Indiana.
Her children with Samuel were:
Albert (abt 1868)
Samuel (abt 1869)
George (abt 1872)
Francis (Frank)(1873-1922)
Jesse (abt 1876)
Ira 1877-1880
and possibly more that we have yet to confirm.

Second she married,(although it appears briefly, and we suspect they may have divorced) Byrd Allen on 3 January 1888 Lafayette, Tippecanoe, Indiana. (I believe his full name was Albert Byrd Allen and he died in 1929 Obion, TN.) Her marriage record states previous husband: Barrick
"Byrd Allen" was the son of Silas Allen and Lucinda Lear. Which is how we came to the conclusion that Sarah and Byrd must have divorced, since the only child we find of Silas and Lucinda Allen who's name is Byrd is Albert Byrd Allen who died and is buried in Obion Co, TN.

Third she married Wesley Brown on 10 Jun 1894 Tippecanoe, Indiana. Marriage record states previous husband: Allen.

And lastly she married: Elza Bowden at a date unknown. Most likely between 1909 when his first wife passed, and the 1910 census. Elza died 1915 and is buried in Marion National Cemetery, Grant Co, Indiana.

She is buried as Sarah Bowden, next to her first husband, Samuel J Barrick.
