WEATHERFORD - Hazel Cogburn Powell Bailey, 80, passed peacefully from this life to be with the Lord on Monday, July 20, 1998, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Funeral: 2 p.m. Thursday at White's Funeral Home. Burial: Oakland Cemetery in Weatherford. Visitation: 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Hazel Cogburn Powell Bailey was born March 19, 1918, in Parker County. She was a member of South Main Church of Christ and a lifelong resident of Parker County. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Wayne Powell, in 1974 and her son, George N. Powell, in 1986.

Survivors: She is held in loving memory by her husband, W. Alvis Bailey of Weatherford; daughters and sons-in-law, Cynthia and Arvill Newby of Springtown; Mary Jane and Bobby Mangrum of Stephenville; stepchildren, Nancy Locklear and her husband, Tommy, of Denton, Janice Krebaum and her husband, Kenneth, of Carrollton, Ronnie Bailey and his wife, Lou Ann, of New London, Conn. and Clarence Bailey and his wife, Becky, of Springtown; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and numerous loving family members and friends.
