Age 18 years enlisted February 1, 1862 mustered in April 10, 1862 as Private with Co. H. 62nd Illinois Infantry re-enlisted as veteran with Company A. same Regiment mustered out March 6, 1866
He was resident of Soldiers Home Leavenworth Kansas died while on furlough from the home at Kansas City Missouri.
NOTE: Record states buried at Leavenworth National Cemetery but this may be wrong he is not found on the National Gravesite Locator.
