A celebration of the life of Asia LeeShawn Ferguson IV, 17, who was hit and killed by a roller coaster at Georgia Six Flags amusement park Saturday June 28, 2008 will be held Saturday at Oakey Spring Baptist Church, Springfield, SC, with the Rev. Dr. Kenneth C. Perkins officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. LeeShawn will be placed in the church at 1:00 p.m. Saturday July 5, 2008. Viewing is from 3:00 - 10:00 p.m. Friday July 4, 2008, at Bostick-Tompkins Funeral Home.

The Ferguson family has entrusted Bostick-Tompkins Funeral Home, 2930 Colonial Drive, Columbia, SC 29203, to care for LeeShawn.

LeeShawn, as he was affectionately called by family and friends, went to be with his Lord Saturday, June 28th, 2008. Born in Columbia, he was the son of Asia Dewayne and Letha Jenkins Ferguson.

A rising Senior at W.J. Keenan High School, Shawn was a member of the W.J. Keenan Chorus. LeeShawn was a faithful member of Oakey Spring Baptist Church where he was a member of the Young Adult Choir.

Surviving are his loving parents, Dewayne and Letha J. Ferguson; his brothers, Jacolby Ferguson and Matthew Corbett; paternal grandmother, Asenath Ferguson; maternal grandfather, Sammie Jenkins; maternal grandmother, Bernice Jenkins; maternal great-grandmother, Gladys Jenkins. He is also survived by a host of loving uncles, aunts, cousins, classmates, church family, other relatives and dear friends, all of whom will miss him dearly.

Memorials may be made to Oakey Spring Baptist Church in memory of Asia LeeShawn Ferguson at P.O. Box 550, Springfield, SC 29146.
