Obituary: April 26, 1966: Mrs. Nellie Jennings of Mtn. Grove, Dies -- Mrs. Nellie Jane Jennings, 70, of Mtn. Grove, and a resident of Norwood and Mtn. Grove for the past 30 years, died at 6 a.m. Tuesday at Mansfield. She was born Feb. 16, 1896, at Toledo, Mo., a daughter of Rev. Samuel N. and Rosa McDowell Hargis. She was a member of the Assembly of God Church.
Survivors include her husband, W. W. Jennings; six sons, Wilbur Jennings of Norwood, Archie Jennings of McClellan, Iowa, Raymond Jennings of Mtn. Grove, Roy Jennings of Rantoul, Ill., Truman Jennings of Mantica, Calif., and Lewis Jennings of Wichita, Kan.; four daughters, Mrs. Stella Horner of Ava, Mrs. Alice Bruffett of Springfield, Mrs. Rose Cisco and Mrs. Lois Dake, both of Mtn. Grove; two brothers, Oren Hargis of Danuba, Calif., and Bob Hargis of Topeka, Kan.; six sisters, Mrs. Ora Humbyrd of Ava, Mrs. Esther Conley of Denver, Colo., Mrs. Belle Wilson of Inglewood, Calif., Mrs. Beulah Kyle of Springfield, Mrs. Julie Jenkins and Mrs. Effie Hodges, both of Aurora; 33 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Oak Forest church by Rev. Oscar Cunningham. Burial will be made in the Oak Forest Cemetery by Clinkingbeard Funeral Home."
