OBITUARY

Howard S. Hendricks, 67, of 1022 Hovey Ave., Normal, died at 3 a.m. Thursday at Mennonite Hospital. He had entered the hospital Saturday.

Mr. Hendricks retired in 1968 as an insurance representative. He worked in Bloomington-Normal for 30 years and prior to coming to this area was in the insurance business in Chicago for 16 years.

He served on the Unit District 5 school board from 1950 to 1953, and was president of the group from 1951 to 1952.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Park Hill Cemetery, the Rev. Philip D. Queen officiating. Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Metzler Memorial Home.

Mr. Hendricks was born October 21, 1910, in Maywood, Ill., the son of Rae Wright Hendricks and Elsie Philomena Bauder. He married Jean Warfield Hayes on October 28, 1935, in Maywood, Ill.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Hayes, Matteson, and John, Superior, Wis., a sister, Genevieve Schaare, Fort Collins, Colo., and two granddaughters.

Mr. Hendricks was a member of the Normal Ill. Masonic Lodge, the Bloomington, Ill., Consistory and was a former Shriner. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in fire prevention engineering in 1932 from the Illinois Institute of Technology and was a member of Phi Kappa Sigma fraternity.

Memorials may be made to the Shriners Hospital for Crippled Children.
