1885-1976

Mrs. Victoria Brand, 91, died Saturday, October 2, in Paintsville at the home of her daughter, after an extended illness.

Mrs. Brand was the daughter of Sherman and Sally Brown Brown. She was born September 17, 1885, in Magoffin County, and was a member of the Riceville Freewill Baptist Church. Her husband, John Brand, preceded her in death.

Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Foster Frazier of Paintsville, Mrs. Glen Williams of Swamp Branch, Mrs. Herbert Blevins of Dayton, OH; a brother, Jason Brown of Prestonsburg; two sisters, Rhoda Sourwine of Plymouth, OH and Mary Halton of Wabash, IN; 20 grandchildren and several great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, October 5, in the Third Street Freewill Baptist Church with Rev. Ellis Hamilton officiating.

Burial was in the Wells-Buckingham Cemetery in Paintsville with Jones-Preston Funeral Home handling arrangements.
