Was the son of Augusts (Able) and Rose Sale Carpenter.
Mr. Carpenter came to Chase county Kansas with his parents in 1913. For a number of years he lived on a farm there later moving to a farm in Elk county near Pidmont. On Nov. 5, 1942 he was united in mariage to Marie Bradford. To this union one child Gussie Irvin. For many months Mr, Carpenter was ill and spent weeks in the Veterans Hospital in Witchita. Because of this had to give up his occupation and move to Howard in Dec 1945. He was a veteran of the First World War being enlisted June 25, 1917 serving overseas 18 month. He was discharged June 8,1919 He served in central section Haver,Alsace France with Co. D. 351 Infantry.
Those who mourn his passing are his wife and son, his father A.A. Carpenter and two step-sons Juluis Lee Bradford and Teddy James Bradford; two sisters, Mrs. Elise Miller, Mrs Lottie Corbin, five brothers Dewey who along with his wife Vera has assisted in caring for him the last several weeks; James, Frank, Ernest, Clarence.
Funeral Services held at Moon Chapel in Howard.
