Strickler Everett Agee, 89, of Christiansburg, died Thursday, June 19, 2008. Strickler was a member of Main Street Baptist Church in Christiansburg and served two years in the United States Navy. He was the son to the late Everette Early and Aleene Strickler Agee. He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Caroline Agee Hauck; grandson, Trenton Strickler Agee; sister, Cecil Agee Woolwine; and brother, Thomas F. Agee. He is survived by his wife, Illa Wade Agee; son and daughter-in-law, Everett and Becky Agee; daughter, Peggy Benedict; stepchildren, Mavis Reed, Barry Shepherd and Teddy Shepherd; grandchildren, Scott and Trevor Agee, and Melanie Benedict; stepgrandchildren, Angie Barton and Michael Krupey, Tyler and Derek Baker, Gina Stike, Michael Poff, Brian Poff, Eddie and Dwayne Shepherd, Joshua Shepherd, and Matthew and Sarah Shepherd; stepgreatgrandchildren, Ashley and Taylor Chambers, K.G. Barton, Jack Krupey, Natasha Poston, Amber Stike, Kayla Poff, Jeffrey and Brian Shepherd, Emaline Agee, mother of Peggy, and Caroline and Everett. He is also survived by his nephews, Wayne Woolwine and Tommy Woolwine; brother-in-law, Ted Woolwine; and niece, Deborah Null. The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday, June 21, 2008, at the Horne Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, June 22, 2008, from the Horne Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Marvin Wade officiating. Interment will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Main Street Baptist Church, 100 West Main Street, Christiansburg, Va. 24073.
