Passed away gently and painlessly on June 16, 2004, to join his dearly beloved wife of 69 years, Hildegarde "Pete" Goodrich, who passed away April 2, 2003. Frank was born July 23, 1909, in Milwaukee, WI, the son of Walter and Sadye (Friend) Goodrich. He received his early education in the Milwaukee and Detroit areas and went on to earn a B.S. degree in bacteriology from the University of Wisconsin (Madison), where he was a member of the boxing team and Alpha Gamma Rho fraternity. Frank worked in the insurance business for several years and joined The Upjohn Company in 1944 as a pharmaceutical salesman in the Seattle area. He was promoted to the home office in Kalamazoo in 1949, where he continued until his retirement after 27 years of service. Frank was a member of the First Congregational Church of Kalamazoo, the Kalamazoo Stamp Club, Mensa, Wisconsin Alumni Association, American Philatelic Society and a potluck group, whose friendship and food he enjoyed for over thirty years. Frank was a loving and caring husband, father, grandfather and uncle and a friend and inspiration to many. He was preceded in death by his wife Hildegarde; and his sister, Gertrude Goodrich. Surviving are 3 children, Frank A. Goodrich Jr., of Medford, WI, Walter W. Goodrich of Kalamazoo, and Elizabeth A. Goodrich of Chelsea, MI; 3 grandchildren, Anna, Peter and Austin; a nephew, Alfred Hoffman of Antigo, WI. Private services were held followed by private interment at Mt. Ever-Rest Cemetery with the Rev. Dr. Robert Noblett officiating. A memorial service for Frank and Hildegarde will be announced at a later date. Arrangements by Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick St.
