He was born June 30, 1946, in Springfield, Ill., the son of William and Barbara (Berry) Aldridge. He married Vickie Smith on June 27, 1981, in Little America.
She survives, with one son, Dennis (Brandy) Aldridge of Henderson, Nev.; two daughters, Shelley (Graham) Miguel of Cayucos, Calif., and Kim (Toby) Vaughn of San Jose, Ill.; five grandchildren, Alexia & Kode Aldridge of Henderson, Nev., Gavin Miguel of Cayucos, Calif., Sydalee Vaughn of San Jose and Carter Aldridge of Henderson, Nev.; five brothers, Joe (Marcy) Aldridge of Springfield, Bob (Dorothy) Aldridge of St. Peters, Mo., John (Sharon) Aldridge of Gillespie, Roger (Leta) Aldridge of Springfield and Troy Aldridge of Mattoon; three sisters, Jeannie Miller of Jacksonville, Fla., Cheryl (Don) Bridgewater of Springfield and Linda Purvis of Mattoon; along with many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded by his parents and two brothers, Dennis and David.
He was a Vietnam veteran serving 13 years in the U.S. Marine Corps.
He retired from the U.S. Postal Service, and later worked at Spoon River Towers and U.S. Suppliers in Lewistown.
He was a member of Lewistown VFW Post 5001, and was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan, Miami Dolphins fan and NASCAR racing fan.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Henry-Lange Memorial Home in Lewistown, with the Rev. Danie deBeer officiating. Visitation will be two hours before services.
Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery in Lewistown, with military rites accorded by his VFW Post and American Legion Bishop Post 1.
