Adelaide was the daughter of Antoine Allain, Sr. and Marcelline Guertain. She married Simon Allard, son of Joseph Allard and Euphemie Macon, in 1866. They were married by Father Charles Chiniquy. In 1870 and 1880, they were living in St. Anne, Illinois. During that time, Simon made his living as a laborer.

One of their sons was in the Jacksonville, Illinois State School for the deaf.

Simon and Adelaide went to Kansas with Antoine Jr., Rebecca and their children in 1872. The trip took them seven weeks to go from St. Anne, Illinois to Clyde, Kansas. In 1886, they returned to St. Anne, taking 21 days to travel a 750 mile trip. Adelaide later went to Salem, Oregon to live with her daughter Nellie and Nellie's husband, Walter Pool.

When Adelaide was in her 70's, she had beautiful grey hair. She did "stretching exercises" every morning and was very limber.

Simon died on 9 Feb 1899 in St. Anne, Kankakee County, Illinois. The St. Anne Township Community Cemetery has Simon's death in 1898.

Adelaide's parents were both French Canadian by birth.

Adelaide lived most of her life in Illinois but she died at her daughter's home on February 28, 1929, in Wallowa County, Oregon where she had lived for several years.

There are three known children born to the marriage of Simon and Adelaide Allard... Charles Allard and Harvey Allard were both buried in St. Anne, Illinois.

Their daughter was Nellie M. Allard who married Walter F. Poole

Their grandson was Orell A. Poole, who is also buried in Wallowa Cemetery.
