Funeral services for Nanetta Cecile Brooks, 90, of Calhoun, La. will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday June 1, 2008 in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home in West Monroe with Rev. Johnny Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery in Calhoun, LA.

Mrs. Brooks died May 29, 2008 at her residence in Calhoun, LA. She was a member of Liberty Baptist Church where she taught children's Sunday school for 50 years. Mrs. Brooks was a member of the Ag Center Home Demonstration Club and the Campers on Mission. Mrs. Brooks was always doing things for other people instead of herself, her home was always open to anyone that came by. She loved to garden and cook.

Mrs. Brooks is preceded in death by her husband Earl H. Brooks, son, Robert W. Brooks, and great grandson, Robert Wayne (Little Bobby) Brooks, III.

Survivors include her sons, James H. (Jim) Brooks and wife Gayle, Richard E. Brooks and wife Sandra, daughter, Nanette Diel and husband James; sister, Nelda Jacobs; brother, Reggie Bryan; 7 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.

Pallbearers will be Rob Brooks, Robert Carpenter, Philip Brooks, M. Scott Brooks, Johnathan Brooks, and Ken Bryan.

Visitation will be from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM Saturday May 31, 2008 at Mulhearn Funeral Home in West Monroe.

The family would like to thank Dr. Don Hammett for the excellent care given to Mrs. Brooks.
