James R. Beaty, 55, Markle, died at 3:10 p.m. Saturday (Oct. 6, 1984) at the Veteran's Administration Hospital, Fort Wayne.

Mr. Beaty was born march 19, 1929, in Huntington, to Fred E. and Grace L. Smith Beaty. his marriage was Nov. 27, 1955, in the Uniontown Church of Christ to the former Dorothy L. Smith, who survives.

Also surviving is a son, Lynn J. Beaty, Huntington; a sister, Mrs. Donald (Dorothy) Hower, Huntington; and two grandchildren. One granddaughter preceded him in death.

He was a member of the Markle Church of Christ. He was a Army veteran of the Korean Conflict and was a member of the American Legion in Huntington. He was engaged in farming.

Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the Myers Funeral Home, Markle. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Markle Church of Christ with Gerald Moreland and Rick Smalling officiating. Burial will be in the Markle Cemetery.

Preferred memorial are to the Markle Church of Christ or to the family's funeral expenses in care of the funeral home.
