Son of William Smith "Sonny" Adams & Eulala "Eula" Davis Mitchell. Husband of Zelma A. Lord. He was a World War I hero, earning a silver star (for going behind enemy lines in France to bring back someone he thought was wounded) as well as many other medals. He was wounded in the war, and dealt with pain from it for the rest of his life. He was a postman and established the first postal route in Kosciusko, Mississippi.
