Minnie Dell Nanny Whitten was born in Texas on June 16, 1882 to B.F. Nanny and Sarah Dupriest. She was married to John L. Whitten in about 1902 when she was 20 and he was 28. They were the parents of Hubert Whitten and Alice Whitten Merchant. She died November 8, 1964 in Brown Nursing Home in Fredericksburg though her death certificate listed her usual place of residence as Abilene, Texas. She had at least one grandchild, Hubert Henry Merchant. She is buried at Evergreen Cemetery on same stone with John Whitten.
