Dorothy was born on Oct. 4, 1934, in Frederick, S.D., the daughter of William and Charlotte (Pew) Ashbaugh. She attended School at Fredrick, then moved with her parents to Evansville, Wis., in 1956. She worked for the Sperry family at the Coach House restaurant and later at the Village Square restaurant as a cook.
She is survived by four sisters: Genevieve Fellows and Lois (Ruben) Schnabel, both of Evansville Wis., Jeanette (Ron) Kindt of LaCresent Minn., Klee (David) Randolph of Marshall, Wis.; and one brother, Tom Ashbaugh of Meriden, Iowa; many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Mary Schnabel and Virginia Eichelberg; four brothers, Robert "Buck," Joe, Arthur and Wallace; and three brothers-in-laws, Curtis Fellows, Oscar Eichelberg, and Walter Schnabel.
A funeral service will be held Tuesday, May 8, 2007, at the Ward Funeral Home, Evansville, with David Fellows officiating.
Burial will be held in Wayside Cemetery in Frederick, Thursday, May 10, 2007.
A special thank you to all the nurses on the fourth wing at the nursing home for taking such good care of Dorothy while she was there. We also would like to thank the Kelly House for the care they gave her while she was there.
