Phyllis Eileen Blacker 79, Mahomet, passed away at 4:05 a.m. Tuesday (April 8, 2008) at the Glenwood Assisted Living Apartments, Mahomet.

Mrs. Blacker was born May 9, 1928, in Bement, a daughter of Kenneth and Lora Wildman Fay. She married Dale Blacker in August 1948, at the Lake Fork Christian Church, Atwood, and they had five children.

She is survived by her husband, Dale Blacker, Mahomet; three daughters; Janice (Scott) Reid, Champaign; Shirley (Scott) Drazewski, Normal; and Sandy Spencer, Champaign; special part of the family former daughter-in-law, Martha, now married to Don Willi, Mahomet; 10 grandchildren, Kate Reid and Carrie Reid, both of Chicago; Kelly Reid, Champaign, Phillip and Taryn Drazewski, Normal; Matt and Sara Spencer, Champaign; and Ben, Ryan and Patrick Blacker, Mahomet.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and two sons, Don Blacker and Joe Blacker.

Mrs. Blacker was raised in the Atwood and Bement area.

She graduated from Atwood High School and attended Champaign Commercial College in Champaign. She was a bookkeeper in Champaign until she was married. After raising her children, she worked for People's State Bank, Mansfield, until her retirement.

Mrs. Blacker was a member of the Mansfield Junior Women's Club; Mansfield Garden Club; Mansfield United Methodist Church, where she was very active; and in recent years Mahomet Senior Citizens Club.

Her activities and hobbies were flower gardening, gathering with friends and family, and attending grandchildren's activities.
