Billy G. Appling was born April 6, 1926, in Park Springs. He was a lineman for Southwestern Bell, retiring in 1985. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army.
Billy was preceded in death by his parents; son, Billy Scott Appling; and brother, Laymon Appling.
Survivors: Wife, Georgene Appling of Azle; daughter, Cindy Appling of Atlanta, Ga.; sons, Kyle Appling and wife, Michelle of Colleyville and Kevin Appling and wife, Sue of Euless; granddaughters, Tara Appling, Emily Appling, Catherine Appling and Haley Houk.
