�Bill� Hackworth
William �Bill� Hackworth, 80, of Blue Creek, Ohio, died Tuesday, March 25, 2008, at Eagle Creek Nursing Center in West Union.
His parents, R. B. and Effie (Goble) Hackworth, and two brothers, Paul and Charles Hackworth, preceded him in death.
He is survived by brother, James Hackworth (Betty) of Blue Creek; sister, Mary Lou Bobst of Lucasville; aunt, Elsie Ison of Pond Creek in Scioto County; and many nieces and nephews.
He was owner and operator of Daye�s Department Store in West Union for more than 53 years; former board member of Adams County Hospital; former member of West Union Lion�s Club; board member of Adams County Chamber of Commerce; avid bowler and member of several bowling leagues; 1945 graduate of the former Jefferson High School in Blue Creek; graduate of the former Portsmouth Interstate Business College and an Army veteran of WWII.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday, March 29, 2008, at Lafferty Funeral Home in West Union, with Rev. Robert McCartney officiating. Burial in West Union Cemetery, with military services by Adams County Honor Guard. Visitation is Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
