Etta-Fern was the born on July 15, 1931 in Copeland, Kansas, the daughter of Spencer and Jessie Shuman Glover. She was the fifth of nine children. A lifetime resident of the Simla - Matheson - Limon area of Rural Eastern Colorado before moving to Scott City, Kansas in March of 2014.

On December 28, 1946, Etta-Fern was united in marriage to Walter A. Ashcraft in Limon, Colorado. The newlywed couple honeymooned in Simla, Colorado and moved to the Homestead Farm-Ranch of Walters folks, Marion and Saide. In 1954, with a family of four they settled in the country where they actively farmed and ranched.

Etta-Fern became a wonderful homemaker, and she enjoyed things such as gardening, cooking, Sunday afternoon ice cream socials, playing cards with the neighbors, arrowhead hunting and sewing. She was a good little bowler and loved to play the piano and dance in her day. Etta-Fern's amazing talent and accomplishments was her artwork that her family will cherish forever. She was a member of the Rural Central Bible Church in which she was very active.
She and Walter lived on the ranch for 48 years. Walter passed away on May 31, 1997 in Santana, Kansas and shortly after Etta-Fern moved off the farm where she resided with Terry and Jayne Ashcraft and family in Limon, Colorado. She moved into a new home in Limon in August of 1999, after that moving to Carla's Cluster Care for a short time and then moved to Scott City, Kansas in March of 2014 to be closer to her daughters, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband of 50 years, two brothers, two sisters and one granddaughter.

Etta-Fern is survived by two sons, Terry and Jayne Ashcraft of Limon, Colorado and daughter, and Mike and Heather Glover of Idaho, three daughters; Diana and Dick Jennison of Healy, Kansas, Dana Cranston of Park, Kansas and Donna Glover of Albuquerque, New Mexico. She is also survived by three brothers; Dale and Lynn Glover of Arizona, Edward and Linda Glover of Limon, Colorado, Gary and Georgiana Glover of Calhan, Colorado one sister, Edna Mae Boegher of Dodge City, Kansas, fourteen grandchildren and eight great grandchildren and a host of over 1000 nieces, nephews and cousins.
