GATE CITY, VA - Clala Geneva (Starnes) Alley, age 81, of Rt. 2, went to be with the Lord late Monday evening (November 6, 2006) after an extended battle with cancer.

She was born August 28, 1925 in Scott County, VA a daughter of the late Milligan and Lizzie Anna Culbertson Starnes. Clala was a homemaker and a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Gate City.

She was preceded in death by her husband: Everette Lee(E.L.) Alley, sisters: Callie (Reese) Falin and Maxie DeZarn. 1 brother: Fred Starnes.

Survivors include, son, David Alley and wife Brenda of Gate City, VA; grandsons, Donnie Alley and wife Alicia and Ronnie Alley; great-grandson, Caleb Ethan Alley; sister, Lucy Flanary of Ft. Blackmore, VA; sister in law, Elizabeth Starnes of the Midway community; brother in law, Jackson (Jack) Alley and wife Doris of Burleson, Texas; several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be Friday evening (November 10, 2006) from 6 until 8 at Scott County Funeral Home.

The service will follow in the funeral home chapel with Rev. George Conn and Rev. Don Large officiating. Music will be provided by the Pine Grove Harmony.

Burial will be Saturday morning (November 11, 2006) at 10 AM in the Holston View Cemetery. It is requested that those wishing to attend meet at the cemetery by 9:55 for those services.
