She was born May 6, 1961 in Albuquerque, N.M. She had lived in Delaware for the past 30 years. She was a graduate of Ohio State University, having received a Bachelor of Science degree in computer science. She also received an associate's degree in interior design from the New York College of Art and Design. She had formerly been employed as a software designer for Nationwide Insurance Co. She was a member of the Delaware Grace Brethren Church and had been the director of the children's choir. She especially enjoyed photography, gardening, making cards and jewelry. She had been a volunteer for the American Red Cross, the Delaware County Volunteer Corps and Delaware City Schools.
She is survived by her husband of 24 years, Joel R. Blight; one son, Brice J. Blight of Delaware; one daughter, Julianna "Kenna" Blight of Delaware; her parents, A. Pete and Maxine E. (Dreher) Patterson of Delaware; one sister, Leigh (John) Malone of LaGrange, Ind.; two nephews, Zach and Brennon Roth; her mother-in-law, Lois A. Blight of Delaware; two brothers-in-law, John W. Blight and James M. Blight, both of Delaware; and one sister-in-law, Thallia Blight of Columbus.
She was preceded in death by her father-in-law, John Blight.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at Rodman Neeper Funeral Home, 1510 W. William St. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Delaware Grace Brethren Church, 375 Hills-Miller Road, with the Rev. Darrell Anderson officiating. Burial will be in Cheshire Cemetery.
