Evelyn is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Akes, she died nine days after an attack of diphtheria at Xenia, IL.

Evelyn Bernice Akes, daughter of Mr and Mrs. William Akes was born in Xenia, III., August 27 1908, departed this life Feb. 9.1921, age 13 years, 5 months, 13 days. Evelyn was a most obedient and loving child, bore her sickness with a marked degree of patience, and being conscious to the last.

She leaves besides her father and mother, two younger sisters, Flossie and Pauline, her four grandparents and many other relatives, her schoolmates and a host of other friends to mourn her departure.

A flower budded on earth to bloom in heaven.

Funeral services were held at the home Thursday, Feb. 10 at 8 p. m. and were in charge of Rev. J. C. Foutz, M. E. pastor. Interment in I. O. O. F. cemetery.
