Services for Charles Eugene Edmonds, 71, will be at 2 p.m. Monday, April 1, 2002, at CrystalRock Cathedral with Dr. Walt Spradling officiating, assisted by Bro. H.H. Davis and Bro. Clarence Mize. Interment will be at Hillcrest Memorial Park under the direction of Griffin Funeral Home.
Charles was born Sept. 25, 1930, in Grandfield, Okla., to Harve Frank and Lizzie Ruth Mize Edmonds. He died March 27, 2002, at the local hospital.
He had lived here since April 1961, moving here from Grandfield, and was an Army veteran of the Korean War. He retired from Total Refinery after 41 years of service and was a member of CrystalRock Cathedral. He and Carol Parks were married on July 20, 1957, in Burkburnett, Texas.
Charles was an excellent woodworker and he enjoyed fishing in Colorado with his family. The joy of his life was his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, of the home; a son, Larry Edmonds and his wife, Andrea, of Lone Grove; two daughters, Lisa Armstrong and husband, James, of Lone Grove, and Caryn Harper and husband, Johnny, of Marietta; a brother, Clifford Edmonds of Ardmore; a sister, Juanita Daily and husband, Bob, of Oklahoma City; and six grandchildren.
Bearers will be Bob Groomer, Charles Buck, Gene Jones, Curtis Moore, Freeman Blankenship and Sam West. Honorary bearers will be grandsons, nephews and sons-in-law.
