Robert Aten

Astoria - Robert P. Aten, 62, of Orange, Calif., formerly of Astoria, died at 5:15 p.m. Friday, June 26, 1998, at Tustin Medical Center in Tustin, Calif.

He was born Nov. 27, 1935, in Woodland Township, Fulton County, to Merlin J. and Annetta Parker Aten.

Surviving are his mother, Annetta Fisher of Ipava; and three brothers, Rodney of Ipava, John of Beardstown and Richard of Highland.
He was preceded in death by his father.
He was an auto detailer in California since 1967. Prior to that, he was a postal employee for 10 years and worked for the Federal Aviation Administration for two years, both in Oklahoma.

Private graveside services will be in Oak Grove Cemetery in Astoria. There will be no visitation. Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to the Astoria Township Cemetery Association, P. O. Box 525, Astoria, Ill. 61501.
