Daughter of Hugh Albert & Mary Evalena Kay Boyer. 1m to John Edward Callahan on 11 Jan 1941 in Old Mines, Washington County, MO. 2M to _____ Russell. 3m to Robert Clyde Briix. 3 stepdaughters: Virginia Briix, Bonita Briix and Carolyn Briix.

Obituary:

Marie Briix, formerly of Cadet, Mo., passed away at her residence in St. Louis, Mo. Wednesday, January 16, 2002 at the age of 79 years, 9 months. She was born on April 16, 1922 to the late Hugh and Mary Kay Boyer.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Hugh Jr. and one sister, Della Olivia and her husband, Robert Briix.

Those who remain to mourn her passing are her sisters, Jessie Hale of Springfield, Mo.; Hughetta McClendon of St. Louis and Galena Wollensen and husband Bob of Old Mines, Mo.; one aunt, May Jean Marler and husband Al of Baker City, Oregon; two step-daughters, Virginia Lowther and husband Jim of Emporia, Kansas and Bonnie Thompson of McPherson, Kansas; Paul Russell (whom she raised) and his wife Carla of Bloomington, Illinois; plus grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends who will sadly miss her.

Marie had high family values and was there when needed. She believed families should stick together through "thick and thin."

Marie had various interests. She taught school in fountain Farm in the early 40:s, was employed at Brown Shoe Co. in Potosi in the late 40;s, Grossman Steel in St. Louis and Boyer Hardwar and Lumber in Potosi in the 50's and retired from Farmland in Kansas City in the 70's. She was an astrologer and a handwriting analyst. She was a member of the Mo. Botanical Gardens, PETA, A.R.E. and common Cause.

She did volunteer services at Alexian Brothers and St. Alexius Hospital, St. Louis.

Visitation and services were held at White Chapel Funeral Home in Kansas City, Mo. and interment was in White Chapel Memorial Gardens in Kansas City, Mo.
