Funeral services will be held 2 p.m., Saturday, March 15, 2008 at Cloverdale Funeral Home with viewing one hour prior to the service. Burial to follow in Cloverdale Memorial Park. Mildred Lucille Wright Davis was born Aug. 14, 1933 in the small town of Mesa, Idaho to Cletis and Lucille Wright. Her early childhood was spent moving from town to town as her father, Cletis, moved from construction job to construction job. In 1943, they settled in the Treasure Valley where she has remained except while her father worked on airfields around Idaho during World War II. Mildred graduated from Boise High School in 1951. She went on to work for Westinghouse and Wright Construction, her father's construction company.

In 1951, she met her husband of 56 years, George Davis. After George left the Air Force, they returned to the Boise Valley. Mildred and George both worked for C. Wright Construction until 1962 when they joined with her brother C. Wayne Wright to form C. Wright Construction Inc. In the spring [of] 1982, Mildred and George started George Davis Construction. Mildred was the Office Manager until 2000 when they retired.

Mildred and George raised five children. She was very busy as the children grew up racing from ballgame to ballgame and band concert to band concert. When she wasn't doing that, she was very involved in PTA, 4-H, Cub Scouts, Girl Scouts, and [as] a member of the Meridian High School Booster Club. And if that wasn't enough they enjoyed fishing and camping especially with the grandkids. After her kids grew up and left home Mildred and George took up bowling to fill the extra time. Mildred went on to become President of the Meridian Women's Bowling Association. She spent a lot of her time inspecting and certifying the bowling lanes through out the Treasure Valley.

Mildred is survived by her husband, George B. Davis of Meridian; her daughters: Nancy Young (David) of Meridian, Linda Morford (Larry) of Torrance, Calif. and Pam Duff (Jack) of Tulsa, Okla.; sons: George "Bob" Davis (Valerie) of Atlanta, Ga. and David Davis (Melissa) of Valrice, Fla.; her brother, Wayne Wright; 10 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father, Cletis L. Wright; her mother, Lucille F. Wright; and her sister, Francis A. Herman. For those wishing to honor Mildred's life memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association.
