Samuel G. Sprenkle

Samuel G. Sprenkle, 95, formerly of Waynesboro, died Friday 12:45 p.m., in Harrisburg State Hospital where he had been a patient for the past three years. Born July 8, 1874, in Williamsport, Md., he was a son of the late John and Mary A. Buckingham Sprenkle. His wife, Mrs. Jessie K. Diehl Sprenkle, preceded him in death in September, 1954.

Mr. Sprenkle operated farms in Adams County and Marsh District, near Waynesboro, for most of his adult life. For a number of years he was employed at Hess Stone Quarry, and prior to retirement in 1954 worked for Wayne Tool Co., Waynesboro.

He was a member of Jacob's Lutheran Church.

Surviving are these children; Mrs. Frank Martin, Mrs. Ruth Peiffer and Herman A. Sprenkle, all of Waynesboro; Mrs. Ethel Brake, Little Rock, Calif.; Lester J. Sprenkle, South Mountain; Omar P. Sprenkle, Waynesboro R. 3; Mrs. Virginia Brawner, Riverdale, Md.; and Mrs. Beulah M. Chesin, Miami Beach, Fla.; 44 grandchildren; 100 great-grandchildren and a number of great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held today at 10:30 a.m. at Grove Funeral Home, Waynesboro with the Rev. Donald Warrenfeltz officiating. Burial was in Fountaindale Union Cemetery.
