He was born March 19, 1914, in Cuba, Ill., to B.N. and Daisy D. Lundry Rector.
A lifetime area resident, Mr. Rector had been a well driller for Henkle Drilling Co., working for 26 years before retiring. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Garden City.
On Oct. 31, 1933, he married Nellie Crow in Lamar, Colo. She died Nov. 1, 2006.
Survivors include a niece, Marcelle Clark of Leoti; a nephew, Charles Crow of Coldwell; and several great-nephews and great-nieces.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. today at Price & Sons Funeral Home, Garden City, with the Rev. David Bell officiating. Burial will be in Valley View Cemetery, Garden City.
