William H. (Bill) Barney, 84, 1124½ Cottonwood Street, died Wednesday at Good Samaritan Nursing Center in East Grand Forks, Minnesota
Mr. Barney was born September 28, 1881, at Minneapolis. He married Margaret Mary Brunskill at Grand Forks, October 12, 1920. She survives as do a son, William G., Grand Forks; a daughter, Mrs. Ward (Virginia) Kirby, Dickinson, N.D.; a brother; John, Seattle, and nine grandchildren.
Mr. Barney is a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Grand Forks. Norman Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements.
A blacksmith for 64 years, Mr. Barney operated East Grand Forks Iron Works, 617 DeMers Avenue at the time of his death. He came to the Dakotas from Austin, Minn., at the age of 15. He helped his father who farmed at Michigan, N.D. before entering the trade of blacksmith. He built his present shop in 1938.
